Southern Eagle Community Day
June 22nd 2019

For years, the staff and management at Southern Eagle Distributing have been committed to supporting our community.  Each year they select a day and several projects for their team to help the community.  This year the date was June 22.

Their team was divided into three groups and was focused on the following projects: vine removal, weeding, mulching and trash pick up in Vero Beach; create food packages at the Treasure Coast Food Bank in Ft. Pierce and beach clean up at Pepper Park on Hutchinson Island.

The company is dedicated to making a positive difference in our community.  “We love this community,” stated Philip Busch, President of Southern Eagle Distributing.  “We live, work and enjoy many activities in our area.  We want the very best for our families and everyone living in our community.  This day is important to all of us at Southern Eagle.”

Charles Park in Vero Beach was the location for the beautification project.  The family friendly park is located at 2401 15th Street and needed of a little TLC.  Team members were onsite from 8:00-11:00 am.

The Treasure Coast Food Bank located on Angle Road in Ft. Pierce, was founded in 1989.  It is the largest hunger-relief organization and the only Food Bank in our four-county area (Indian River, Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee County).  Their mission is to alleviate hunger by obtaining and distributing food and other essentials throughout the Treasure Coast.  SED employees and their families (children 8 and older), volunteered from 8:00-11:00 am.  They packed backpacks for local children and food boxes for the homeless in our community.

The cleanup at Pepper State Park was from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.  The park is located on North A1A, next to the Navy Seal Museum.  It is a great public beach that sees thousands of visitors each year.  The volunteers picked up litter, plastic bottles, old fishing line and any other items left over from beachgoers.

“I am so proud of our employees and their families who are always willing to give back to our community,” added Busch.
