St. Lucie County Fairgrounds was the scene of wild, edge-of-the-seat action last Saturday evening as the Peter W. Busch Family Foundation brought its 12th Annual Treasure Coast Bull Riding event back to the Adam’s Arena. The fundraiser provided spectators great bang for the “buck” as they witnessed many thrilling showdowns of man versus beast. Skilled cowboys bravely attempted to stay mounted atop the back of a bucking bull for a full eight second ride- but who would reign supreme?

The bull riding competition marked the culmination of an afternoon chock-full of activities which included live music, displays, an array of nonprofits who came out to showcase their organizations, food, beer and much more. Inside the arena, the Southeastern Mounted Shooters saddled up their horses and demonstrated their shooting prowess while a free car and bike show added to the day’s enjoyment.

Built on the belief that one should give back to the community it which it does business, the Peter W. Busch Family Foundation was created to support, enrich and enhance the local community.  As the owner of Southern Eagle Distributing, the local Anheuser-Busch distributor, since 1984, Peter, his family and foundation members have spent the last 30-plus years giving back.

The Foundation recently presented a donation to Operation 300 which hosts summer adventure camps for the Gold Star children of fallen American heroes.  Twenty-three of those kids accepted an invitation to attend the bull riding event free of charge.

Other nonprofits that have benefitted from the Busch family generosity include CASTLE, the Navy Seal Museum, and ARC, to name just a few.

Alll proceeds from the Treasure Coast Bull Riding will help support local charities.
